Personal Cloud Profile

This interface is intended for personal user settings but partially overlaps with Users and User Groups, which provides tools for general user management. For user management within a project, see General.

Provides an interface for changing personal user settings. The interface consists of the following elements:

Header toolbar

Shows the username and provides access to the edit mode as well as the following tools:

Change Password Change Password

Change user password (current password required). New password cannot be the same as the old one.

Change Email

Change user email (password required). New email cannot be the same as the old one.

Further sections overview the different tabs of the Personal Cloud Profile. Note that some parameters may look different in view mode and edit mode; with the exception of Groups, this article follows the naming and form as seen in edit mode.

General

Contains user profile settings not specific to any project.

General Tab of the Personal Cloud Profile

Fig. 1. General settings (view mode)

Name

Sets the user’s displayed name (a required parameter).

Groups

Lists the groups the user is a member of (view mode only).

Enabled

A redundant UI element that has no effect and will be removed in future releases of the Cloud.

Object names

Select which names for devices and tags to show in the HMI, see Metadata for details. This setting is effective across all projects the user has access to, whereas the eponymous parameter in the HMI applies on a per-project basis. Should these two parameters differ, the project-specific option selected in the HMI takes precedence.

The following two parameters only apply to projects and/or accounts configured to require two-factor authentication. Depending on the configuration, 2FA might be required:

Contact EnergyMachines™ support for details.

Yubikey Public ID

Shows the Yubico key, if any. Click on  Insert Key to add or change the key. For instructions on how to generate a Yubico key, refer to Yubico documentation.

Note that this setting is not displayed in view mode.

Mobile Authenticator Key

Generate key for use with an authenticator app such as Microsoft Authenticator. Edit mode will hide part of the key. To add the account to an authenticator app, save changes and click on Show QR Code in view mode, then scan the QR code with your authenticator app.

Generating a new key will overwrite the existing key, if present, without confirmation; the new key must be re-added to the authenticator app.

Use dark theme

Check to switch to the dark UI (the change will not apply until saved). In view mode, this parameter is presented as a string: Theme active_theme.

Locale

Select UI language (default is English).

Select timezone for converting the timepoints shown in the Portal/HMI. Unless configured, timepoints will always be shown based on each project’s actual physical location, and timezone selection for HMI will not be possible. Once set, the parameter becomes irreversible and cannot be changed back to an unconfigured state. In view mode, it is presented as a string: Time Zone selected_time_zone.

Use imperial units

Check to display values in imperial units (default is metric). In view mode, this parameter is presented as a string: Unit system active_unit_system. In edit mode, click on to see the list of units currently in use:

Fig. 2. The available unit sets: metric (left) vs. imperial (right)

Server status notifications

Check to receive alerts in the UI on server status, see Systems.

HMI Settings

Lists the projects the user has access to and provides a limited scope of project-specific HMI settings.

Use a short name for auth on the Local HMI

Allows logging in to local HMI without an email and password combination. Check this option to set a username and a PIN for easier authorization on local HMI terminals; both parameters are required as long as the box is checked. Note that unchecking it will erase the existing username-PIN combination, a change that cannot be undone once saved.

Filter by Name

Filters available projects by name; functionally identical to Search/Filter.

Default page

Specifies the page to open when starting an HMI session, overriding the project configuration. Only pages the user has access to will appear here. Access to individual pages or page directories can be obtained from the project’s administrators; see also Permissions.

Alarm priority

Sets project-wide alarm priority for use in alarm filtering, e.g., when viewing alarms under Portal » Alarms.

Alarm message type

Specifies the formatting method for alarm notifications sent to the user’s email address:

  • Text for plain text
  • Html for rich text

Categories

Selects the categories of alarms to be notified of. Only categories the user has access to will appear here. Access to individual alarm categories can be obtained from the project’s administrators; see also Permissions.

Email notification

Check to receive email notifications on the selected alarm categories. Note that the user needs to select at least one category and check this option to receive any notifications.

Search tag by description

Check to allow the search field in Tag Lookup to also filter by keywords found in the tag description.

Subscriptions

This section describes subscription management only; for instructions on how to start a subscription, see Reports and Alarms

This interface consists of two cards:

  • the upper card shows active subscriptions to reports, referred to as “reports” in the UI and in the text below;
  • the lower card shows active subscriptions to alarm statistics, referred to as “subscriptions” in the UI and in the text below.

Each card has the following elements:

  •  Search by report/subscription name
Filters reports/subscriptions by name; functionally identical to Search/Filter.
  • Name
Name of the report/subscription as entered when creating it.
  • Enabled
Check to receive updates on the report/subscription; uncheck to suspend the updates without unsubscribing.
  • Time
Summarizes the subscription parameters in a string in the following order:
    • Update interval
    • Update coverage: days for daily and weekly subscriptions, starting day for monthly and yearly subscriptions
    • Update generation time (hr:min)
See Reports and Alarms for details on these parameters.
  • Last execute
